This is a limited edition, signed print of my ‘Ancient Bubbles’ drawing. It is a mixed media study of a two children chasing bubbles in a woodland. An ancient oak spreads her branches above them. Light cuts through the canopy, dancing with them and lighting their play The original drawing was done in pencil, with colour added using watercolour, coloured pencils and a tiny little bit of collage. I wanted to create the gentlest, most magical piece – a reaction, I think, to the toughness in the world and the horrors on the news at the moment. I wanted to draw a sanctuary in the woods where children can run free and chase bubbles. A place that is safe, with no fear. The children in the drawing are my son and godson, but they could be any child. They are under the protection of an ancient oak, spreading her branches above them. It is the simplicity and ease that we all wish for for our children. There are just 100 of this woodland print available. £15 from the sale of each print will go to Medical Aid for Palestinians. Size: It is printed on A3 size paper: 297 x 420 mm (11.7 x 16.5 in). This print looks fantastic framed up and would make a lovely addition to your home. It will be packaged carefully in a protective envelope to keep it flat for transit. ABOUT THE PRINTS Your print will be made to order here in the studio. It will be digitally printed on lovely smooth 210gsm archival paper. We use special pigment inks to ensure there is no fading over time. The art prints are all drawn, scanned, printed & hand assembled in my studio in the Scottish Borders. The original drawings are inspired by the little corner of the world I’m lucky enough to inhabit. I draw in pencil, biro and watercolour (and sometimes collage), filling my sketchbook with drawings and notes, and working on bigger pencil drawings back in the studio. My work is all about connection: connection with nature, connection with each other. This print is part of a limited edition of 100 prints. This means that once all 100 prints have sold then there won’t be any more printed. The print will be signed in pencil along with the edition number e.g. 7/100.
